Pisces Decan 1 ~ General MeaningPisces decan 1 are ruled by Saturn and Jupiter (Pisces triplicity). The sun glides like a gondola through this decan from February 19 – 29. It’s easy to get very enchanted by this otherworldly zone of Aquarius, Pegasus, the Swan, the Southern fish and the Sculptor. It is the home of dreamy Fomalhaut, the rose coloured twinkle in the eye star of the southern fish. It is also a very psychic area of the cosmos with six prophetic stars residing here.
This zone is a bohemian artists dream, where one can catch the muses and write inspiring music, art and poetry. Here one can absorb, blend into the landscape and be receptive to the flow of inspiration from the collective. But oh so sensitive, there can be the problem of feeling other peoples pain. Pisces decan 1 are great empaths, but prone to self-medication when they take on too much of other peoples woes. In anaesthetizing themselves there can be problems with alcohol or drug abuse.
Muses, Fairytales & The Bohemian Dreamteachmetarot .It is clear that this decan does not focus on the rat race of the business world, rejecting material gain. Karmically this decan signifies turning your back on old behaviour patterns where you have stayed too long in a situation or relationship that was unfulfilling. This lifetime is a wakeup call, and you may have one very draining partner, with whom you suffered so much that you decide once and for all, ‘never again!’.
Continued in eBook and members onlyThe tarot card associated with this decan is the 8 of cups “Much inner and outer work needs to be done. You might feel the need to withdraw from the rat race to focus on what is of true worth and to hear your inner voice. The Eight of Cups does not imply that your Personal Journey will be easy as many superficial and shallow layers will have to be peeled away before you will find your Personal Truth and Spiritual Core.” ~

Pisces Decan 1 ~ Fixed Stars
Enif 1º is found in Pegasus’s nose and has its head firmly stuck in the clouds. Robson says the constellation as a whole “gives ambition, vanity, intuition, enthusiasm, caprice and bad judgment.” Noonan says “The constellation portends events concerning ships and the ocean and also changes in the weather. In medieval times it was said to indicate vain individuals with a great deal of ambition, but with very poor judgment.” For Enif specifically it brings “Danger in battle.” Biham 6º in the head of Pegasus, the other star in this constellation has no specific meaning.
Sadalmelik 3º in Aquarius’s shoulder is known as the “Luckiest of the Lucky” and this seems to play out in general for this decan. Somehow these people just seem to float into fortune without making any great effort, much to the chagrin their industrious Saturnian friends. These cats always fall on their feet. Strangely Robson seems to think this star “causes persecution, lawsuits, extreme and sudden destruction and the death penalty.” What I make of this is that this stars’ talents might attract envy, and they could be targets from those who have a more nefarious agenda and they could be set up as criminals. But I think the “death penalty” scenario is taking that a bit too far. Having this on the south node though could point to a past life execution for high treason.
Fomalhaut 3º as one of the archangel stars that can be extremely fortunate, but only if it uses its gifts with integrity and for the greater good. Otherwise, Fomalhaut can be corrupt, fall into sorcery and be disgraced. That’s the feeling of the whole decan really. Water needs to be kept flowing since it can absorb negativity more than any other element and of course stagnant water becomes toxic very quickly. Robson says Fomalhaut “is said to be very fortunate and powerful and yet to cause malevolence of sublime scope and character, and change from a material to a spiritual form of expression.” The Ebertins say “According to tradition, this star is of quite a variable effect, either very good or very bad, depending on the overall cosmic structure. It is assumed, however, that the helpful influence is the greater one… Tied up with either Sun or Moon, the influence of Fomalhaut is said to be quite marked.”
Deneb Adige 5º ensures that the artists among them make gains from their talent seeing this star has a fortunate influence over artistic or scientific pursuits. “To prove this, it is interesting to find several well-known artists and writers, who could make good money with their art, be it manifold activities in the acting art or achieving record sales of their printed works.” This star is also known for unsteady affections being a late developer. They retain their childlike wonder at the world long past midlife, this may be because they have managed not to bare much responsibility for others, they travel light and float high. Robson says Deneb Adige gives “an ingenious nature and a clever intellect that is quick at learning.”
There are two stars in constellation Sculptor, Beta Sculptor 7º and Gamma Sculptor 7º here. I threw them in because although they are not particularly bright, they do add to the artistic theme of this decan. Sculpting has both the attributes of Saturn (clay) and Jupiter (creator) which rule this decan. “Pygmalion is the name of a sculptor who created an ivory statue, or sculpture, named Galatea (‘milk-white’), and fell in love with it. He offered the statue presents and prayed to Venus, Venus brought the statue to life…Sculptor contains the south galactic pole of the Milky Way.” ~ Anne Wright. Yes, these subjects can sure put their love on a plinth.
Skat 8º in Aquarius is found on the shin bone of the water bearer. It is another one of the prophetic stars in the list, it also gives “good fortune and lasting happiness and also it is said to indicate safety in a deluge”. It’s another one of the stars that give luck with the opposite sex. I think this section looks great for marrying into wealth. Here we might find the glamorous, charming trophy spouse. On the more ethical side, this might allow someone to be free to pursue their art through having a very wealthy and supportive partner.

Sadalmelik 3º ~ “Occult interests, prominence in occultism, gain through companies.” “An optimistic attitude. To be a good networker; to be seen as a hub of information or social contacts.”
Fomalhaut 4º ~ “Dissipated, easily influenced by low companions, gain through inheritance but unproductive of good, may suffer for some crime committed, danger of bites from venomous creatures.” “The artist, the idealist, the charismatic person; to be vulnerable to hubris. The need to keep one’s feet on the ground while one’s head in the clouds”
Deneb Agide 5º ~ “ The desire to explore – places, spiritual beliefs and ideas. The courage to act on one’s beliefs. The shaman, one who touches other worlds.”
Skat 8º ~ “Sensitive, emotional, psychic, criticism and persecution through mediumship, but help from friends.”
As we can see there are certainly some illustrious folk here. Austin Coppock compares this decan to a Labyrinth, he acknowledges that this is the zone of ‘wanderers seekers and poets’ but also that they “have a penchant for getting trapped in unpleasant fairy tails, narrative loops they refuse to break free of ”
You can really see the very light and very dark sides of Fomalhaut coming out through here as their creative solar flare throws a very long black shadow. Saturn and Jupiter both ruling this decan though, also symbolise the internal battle between god and the devil.
Those who succeed in slaying the demons lurking inside their misty Labyrinth can do very well. Sometimes they make a career out of their demon-slaying. This decan is also very heavily involved with the occult, but this doesn’t always mean that these folk dabble in mysticism. Sometimes they just like to keep themselves private, have a very rich inner world and a fascination with other dimensions.
