Asteroids are used in astrology to fine tune themes brought up in the natal chart and also in synastry and mundane astrology. When using asteroids the orbs must be very tight, I would say not more than a 1.5 degree orb, otherwise you are in danger of completely diluting the chart and not seeing the forest...
