Venus Mars aspects are passionate and driven, but the hard aspects can also be quite cruel and ruthless. Under normal circumstances, Venus will soothe Mars and Mars will push a lazy Venus into taking action, but as I found in my research, there was a wide spectrum in how these two play out in reality.
The square for some reason seems to yield far more success, especially in the field of entertainment. This aspect will be both sexy and charming which is irresistible to an audience. The natives will have a great passion for their art and will have the magnetism to easily attract benefactors.

Venus Mars aspects natives can make money from their physique through sports prowess, sexuality or sheer good looks. They can also be fantastic campaigners and politicians as their rousing speeches will ignite a crowd into taking action on important issues.
With the hard aspects, the huge difference in famous people with Venus square Mars compared to Venus opposition Mars leads me to think the opposition is much harder to deal with. Maybe it was the case that I just hadn’t heard of many on the list, maybe these folk were more successful in business, sports or the military rather than in sciences, arts or entertainment. But I have not seen such a stark difference in both aspects in all my research so this is significant in itself. (Scroll down for examples)

More Venus aspects
Both Hitler and Gandhi were nationalists and fought for their version of ‘peace’ in their respective lands.(I’m sure Hitler thought he was bringing harmony back to his land after the Weimar Republic, it just wasn’t peaceful for everyone.)
Hitler obviously activated his Venus in a far more radical way than Gandhi, but it is interesting how this aspect can play out and how Venus can turn malefic and obsessional even when she is supposed to be strong and ‘benefic’.
Polyamory Or Celibacy
Venus conjunct Mars often has issues with sexuality. It can be a very provocative and precocious conjunction and I have seen it figure in clients who are polyamorous. On the other hand I have also seen this aspect in celibate clients too. We should also note that Gandhi was given to some dubious practices in relation to his sexuality.
“ It was no secret that Mohandas Gandhi had an unusual sex life. He spoke constantly of sex and gave detailed, often provocative, instructions to his followers as to how to they might best observe chastity.” ~ The Independant.
Gandhi ‘tested’ his own celibacy by sleeping with the naked wives of his followers while at the same time instructing the husbands not to have sex with their wives…
Hitler seems to be another paradox, condemning homosexuality while “For most of his life, Hitler was predominantly homosexual. In his teens and early twenties, he had a string of “exclusive male companions”, including August Kubizek, Reinhold Hanisch, and Rudolf Hausler. He shared accommodation with these men in seedy Viennese or Munich backstreets and in “homes for the destitute”. ~ Irishexaminer
Venus conjunct Mars then can be paradoxical and may behave the opposite of what it seems behind bedroom doors. I would say that I think this aspect in its most negative expression can become quite a ‘bunny boiler’, while falling in love can be both its greatest muse and downfall (Winehouse.)
Being addicted to love and sex can also be a problem with all Venus Mars aspects. Love and anger are also strongly linked and those that have this aspect will often be turned on by having rows with their partner. (As we saw with Madonna and Penn)
Often Venus Mars aspects will think that their partner doesn’t love them enough if they aren’t willing to fight for them. Venus Mars aspects will often construct love triangle scenarios where the object of their desire has to choose between themselves and a rival. These natives can find love boring if there is no conflict or their beloved is won over too easily.
Venus is also money, so Venus sextile Mars and Venus trine Mars can be extremely materialistic and ambitious. This need for adoration is even more marked when found in the arts and entertainment industries. All Venus Mars aspects suffers from FOMO, wanting to be seen at all the most prestigious social events. Social climbers and gold-diggers are found here as these folk are prone to use their looks to advance their careers. They might also marry for appearances and fame too. Perfect Aryan Beauty Eva Braun could have served as a ‘beard’ for Hitler too if he really was a homosexual.
