Venus Mars aspects are passionate and driven, but the hard aspects can also be quite cruel and ruthless. Under normal circumstances, Venus will soothe Mars and Mars will push a lazy Venus into taking action, but as I found in my research, there was a wide spectrum in how these two play out in reality.
The square for some reason seems to yield far more success, especially in the field of entertainment. This aspect will be both sexy and charming which is irresistible to an audience. The natives will have a great passion for their art and will have the magnetism to easily attract benefactors.
Venus Mars aspects natives can make money from their physique through sports prowess, sexuality or sheer good looks. They can also be fantastic campaigners and politicians as their rousing speeches will ignite a crowd into taking action on important issues.
With the hard aspects, the huge difference in famous people with Venus square Mars compared to Venus opposition Mars leads me to think the opposition is much harder to deal with. Maybe it was the case that I just hadn’t heard of many on the list, maybe these folk were more successful in business, sports or the military rather than in sciences, arts or entertainment. But I have not seen such a stark difference in both aspects in all my research so this is significant in itself. (Scroll down for examples)

I have a square from Venus in Taurus 24-25 degrees to Mars in Virgo 1 to 2 degrees. This is the most accurate description of my love life to date. Venus, thank God, takes the upper-hand. The lucky part of this aspect is that it is trine by sign but square by a stellium of the north node Uranus and Pluto. Venus only makes the square starting at Uranus to Mars – Pluto is at 6 Virgo – so, luckily, it’s out of orb.
But Mars is conjunct Pluto – in Virgo – thank G*d! – so I had my sadomasochist phase with soap and a shower nearby. My Virgo Mars Pluto hugs my IC so I hate myself unless I bathe myself in cologne and showers then I am transformed. So I rise from the ashes every shower and love to play it a la dramatic to the edge of the edge than come back. Mars in Virgo is just an analytical Mars – so with Venus every single person is a love interest and bc of the square to Uranus I identify as a gay man. I have a Cancer Sun and a Pisces Moon, so it tames these squares in the biggest way. My chart is a 14 trine, 1 grand square and a kite formation with two yods that for decades has eluded me. I knew astrology really well until I gave it up when I decided to be celibate for ten years but then I couldn’t stand it or myself like this and am thinking of going back to my “normal” when the Covid-19 is over. But, again nothing has come close to accurate as these Dark Star folks. Am beyond impressed. Am actually winded. So I look forward to reading on and ordering a ton of charts to entertain me during this pandemic. Oh, and I was very much in show business and definitely social climbed relying on my looks and was on a soap opera when I was younger in NYC. I worked non-stop and met tons of A-list celeb’s and worked with them as well. These aspects are very fortunate that way. Love, however, was not always smooth sailing – but one person was never, ever enough for me. And, yes, triangles to prove my partner’s love for me was just part and parcel of dating me. In retrospect, I would have chastised myself but it did make for a lot of good dirt to write essays and books on the pain of love.
I think it’s good to have a celibate period. A good spiritual detox. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway… 😉
I was married to an entertainer with Venus in Virgo House 1 square a Mercury Venus applying and waning conjunction House 10. He was literally on stage with this one. Utter passion about his art, and very charming. Also, narcissistic – the love-bombing was definitely his forte. A sexy, charming guy publicly and privately, mixed with the dark side of it all. Kind of bi-polar in this way – with an Aries Moon square Cancer Sun – yikes. Angry emotional tone and very whiny.
