Saturn In Sagittarius ~ DisOrdered

Saturn travels through Sagittarius decan 3 until December 20 2017. Decan 3 starts from the 20º 00′ mark. After that, Saturn will enter Capricorn after two and half years in Sagittarius. So what is is store for us in the last leg of this transit? Saturn has not been feeling comfortable in expansive, globe-trotting Sagittarius. Since Saturn entered this sign, the issue of open borders and immigration has hit the news like never before.

Of course the refugee crisis went much deeper than just Saturn in Sagittarius (Simple ‘fear of foreigners’). The main trigger to any so-called ‘xenophobia’ was the Saturn square Neptune of 2016 which brought up the need for setting boundaries. Natives started to question whether overloading their (cells) ‘culture’ with too many foreign bodies all at once was such a good idea. A nation has an immune system just like a human body does.

The most difficult section of Saturn in Sagittarius was probably Saturn Retrograde on Antares (9º Sagittarius) from Jul 4 to Aug 12 2016. July was the bloodiest month for ISIS terror attacks in Europe. Meanwhile in the states July/August saw demonstrations and riots from BLM supporters (Proceeded by the horrendous Orlando terrorist shooting). Saturn stationing direct on Antares made the aggressive energy even more potent.

Saturn In Sagittarius Decan 3

We have had the worst of Saturn in Sagittarius, but now it is time to deal with the fall out! Thankfully Saturn in Sagittarius 3 paves the way for Saturn’s entrance into the sign that it rules, Capricorn.  So ‘Order, order!!!’ because Saturn actually rules Sagittarius decan 3 using the Chaldean system. It makes it more comfortable for Saturn to do what he does best, building security and stability. As you can see from the fixed stars interpretations below there are some bumps on the road ahead though! I think these obstacles will only make those facing them stronger and more determined.

Dis-ordered Crystals

Saturn In Sagittarius

Austin Coppock says of Saturn in Sagittarius 3 that this decan is mainly about acting under pressure “If one can overcome the difficulties that reside within this face there is little that can’t be accomplished.” he says Saturn here becomes “unswervable over time, capable of the self sacrifice necessary to achieve great works” This decan contains the Galactic Center which makes it rather special. I called Sagittarius Decan 3Dis-ordering Crystals & Illuminating Shade’  In researching this decan I realised that a lot of this decans traits could be associated with Aspergers or ADHD and shows a strong divine masculine energy. In all this Saturn darkness, ironically, this decan can produce the greatest ‘light workers’. These ‘Crystals’ are the spiritual warriors who, when feeling psychically strong, can influence enough minds to cause a massive uprising.

Dates for Saturn in Sagittarius ~ Decans

Saturn in Sagittarius Decan 1 ~ Internet Pestilence. Dec 23 2014 – June 14 2015. Sept 17 to Dec 21 2015.
Saturn in Sagittarius Decan 2 ~ Pagan Law. Dec 22 2015 – Dec 19 2016.
Saturn in Sagittarius Decan 3 ~ Dis-ordered Crystals. Dec 20 2016 – Dec 20 2017

Sagittarius decan 3 energy works in the background, spreading wisdom, shocking us out of complacency, and inspiring us to do something magical with our lives. They are dangerous because they have the power to move many souls into awakening; enough to cause a tsunami of enlightenment that will prove unstoppable once the momentum gets going. This is why they have to be controlled; this is why they have to be drugged, belittled, exiled, silenced, mind-controlled and made to feel like they have a ‘disorder’.

Sagittarius decan 3 ARE dissing-order, but that doesn’t mean we have to fall into anarchy! (Not with Saturn in Capricorn around the corner.) It just goes without saying that the current ‘order’ that is being ‘dissed’ has not been beneficial for the planet. So Sagittarius decan/Eris/Ophuichus 3 types, the future of the human race is in your hands. Sadly, the responsibility can be just too much to handle for some and zoning out with the ‘medicines’ of the snake venom can occur. But to those who managed to work their magic without selling their souls to the devil, we salute you. Those challenged by Saturn in Sagittarius activating their Sun, Moon, AC or MC will be the ones mopping up the mess.

Saturn In Sagittarius ~ Decan 1 & 2 Review

So how has Saturn in Sagittarius panned out so far? When Saturn entered Sagittarius Decan 1 in early 2015, coalition forces led by the USA started its war on Islamic State in Syria. On the other hand on April 2015 it was reported that “Between 5,000 and 6,000 Europeans have traveled to Syria to join the Islamic State, the EU Commissioner for Justice says, stressing that 1,450 of them are French citizens.”

Saturn In Sagittarius Decan 1 ~ Internet Pestilence

The peak time of the ‘Refugee Crisis’ (In terms of passage across the Mediterranean) actually occurred with Saturn Retrograding back into Scorpio decan 3 from Jun 14 to Sept 17 2015. At that time Europeans were unaware that only 1 in 5 of the refugees were actually from war-torn Syria. So we welcomed them with open arms. Sagittarius decan 1 “The great attraction for foreign cultures that comes with Sagittarius serves decan 1 well when looking for herbs (Or drugs..), cures and enlightenment from far and wide.” This decan tends to look favourably at foreigners. It is not xenophobic in any way, but the so-called ‘refugee crisis’ turned out to be a Trojan horse. For Saturn in Sagittarius decan 1, Internet Pestilence: I wrote “With Saturn in Sagittarius we could see tighter controls on information as there is a rush to expose that that has been hidden for so long.” By end of Saturn in Sagittarius 1 the blinkers were off and alternative media began reporting what the mainstream media wouldn’t.

Saturn in Sagittarius Decan 2 ~ Pagan Law

Saturn entered Sagittarius 2 on 21 Dec 2015. New Years day 2016 saw Europe waking up to a year where it would see the fall out of the ‘refugee crisis’. Sexual attacks by migrants in Germany and Sweden could no longer be suppressed by the mainstream as the ‘internet pests’ did their own reporting. This of course led to a revival of a so-called ‘populist’ rebellion with the Brexit referendum vote in the UK and Trump’s Victory in the USA. For Saturn In Sagittarius Decan 2 Pagan Law: I wrote “Saturn is now set in its trajectory. Saturn’s agenda is revealed and understood, so it meets forces that oppose it. Saturn in Sagittarius 2 karmically binds you very securely to its course, so you better be damn sure you want to go there!”

It’s funny that both election results have had attempts to overturn their decisions. The recent attempts to ban Twitter accounts and discredit the Alternative News channels with calling them ‘Fake news’ are only proof of that. The main star of Sagittarius Decan 2 was Ras Algethi in Hercules. Both election results seemed to be a Herculean task for populists. At the time of writing that section of this post (Dec 2015) I didn’t even know Trump would be the Republican candidate for the US election, but I do think he is a very Hercules type of of personality.

In the Sagittarius 2 section I wrote “What I like about Hercules that at least here we have something more akin to a hero we can trust again. Someone who wears his heart on his sleeve.. The uneducated man with a good heart who has no agenda.” Saturn was on Ras Algethi on the day of the US Presidential Election. What you see is what you get with Hercules and Trump seemed to fit in with the Zeitgeist.

Saturn & Fixed Stars In 2017

Saturn In Sagittarius

The dates below are when Saturn is in orb to the fixed star. The length of time Saturn is on orb varies due to the fact Saturn speeds up and slows down as it stations direct or retrograde. Saturn is Retrograde from Apr 6 to Aug 26.

Jan 7 to 15/ Rx Jul 10 to 23/ Sep 26 to Oct 12

Sagittarius 22º 27’Ras Alhague in the head of Ophuichus the Serpent Bearer 2.1
With Saturn: “Selfish, unpopular, determined, fixed opinions, successful, somewhat dishonest, domestic disharmony through jealousy, marriage partner may be invalid, losses of a Mercurial nature.” [1a]

Jan 26 to Feb 2/Rx Jun 9 to 21/Oct 25 to Nov 4

Sagittarius 24º 01’ Lesath in the stinger of Scorpius the Scorpion 2.8
Sagittarius 24º 35’ ~ Shaula in the stinger of Scorpius the Scorpion 1.6
With Saturn: “According to tradition, Lesath [and Shaula] in conjunction with … Saturn, could point to danger from wild animals, either to be ripped up by them, massacred, or torn into pieces. This medieval interpretation is no longer correct in these days. At present, a configuration involving this star points to accidents, catastrophes, or operations.” [2] Robson says of Lesath generally “It gives danger, desperation, immorality and malevolence, and is connected with acid poisons.” [1b]

Feb 6 to 17 /Rx May 26 to Jun 8/ Nov 5 to 14

Sagittarius 25º 20’Kelb Alrai in the right shoulder of Ophuichus the Snake Charmer 2.9
Generally Ophuichus: “It is said to give a passionate, blindly good-hearted, wasteful and easily seduced nature, unseen dangers, enmity and slander. Pliny said that it occasioned much mortality by poisoning.” [1c]

Feb 21 to Mar 13/ Rx May 7 to 22/Nov 15 to 27

Sagittarius 26º 51’ ~ Galactic Center. A very important point but so far I can find no information about Saturn here. More has been written about Pluto’s pass here in 2007. Lyn Koiner says “For those of you who know Theosophy, I will say that it incorporates Ray IV energies to the planet. Ray IV is the sensitive and intuitive ray energy – it is sensitive to sound, color and vibration. It is not exactly sensitive like Neptune because the Galactic Center has an Uranus ‘feel’ to it.”

Mar 18 to Apr 5/Rx Apr 5 to May 7/Nov 28 to Dec 7

Sagittarius 27º 58’ Etamin in the right eye of Draco the Dragon. 2.4
Generally Draco “gives an artistic and emotional but somber nature, a penetrating and analytical mind, much travel and many friends but danger of robbery and of accidental poisoning. It was said by the Ancients that when a comet was here poison was scattered over the world.” (This last happened with Comet Ison from Dec 26 2013 to Jan 3 2014.)

Dec 4 to 16

Sagittarius 28º 45’ Acumen star cluster above the stinger of Scorpius the Scorpion 3.2
With Saturn “To suffer hardships which fuel personal motivation or anger. Striving to help those in hardship or facing hardships to fulfil ones passions. Bitterness and anger at hardships endured by others.” [3]

Saturn in Sagittarius Decan 2 ~ Pagan Law

Saturn is now set in its trajectory here in Sagittarius 2.  Saturn’s agenda is revealed and understood, so it meets forces that oppose it. Saturn in Sagittarius 2 karmically binds you very securely to its course, so you better be damn sure you want to go there! You will need stamina and strength to face the long road ahead. Before committing to this path you will also need to train-up, so that you are a match for any opponents you encounter.

Saturn entered Decan 2 on Dec 22 2015 and revisits 10º Sagittarius for most of July in retrograde, then direct from August 30 to September 21 2016. Saturn will still have the fire of red giant Antares breathing down its neck. So let’s remind ourselves what Saturn on Antares is about.

Robson says: “Materialistic, dishonest through circumstances created by environment, religious hypocrisy, many disappointments, loss through quarrels and legal affairs, trouble through enemies, many failures”

All rather negative, but this is Saturn and Antares is no lightweight either. In the collective we might see these attributes reflected in a nation or leader if they are experiencing a transit from this Saturn or are having a Saturn return during 2016. I have added Saturn to my Antares post now and you can definitely see melancholia in the list, but there is also a rye humour as well. My interpretation is: An internal conflict between good and evil. Interested in playing the sinner or saint. Swinging between polarities. Black & White. Often demonised or sanctified without any good reason. Easy to typecast. So this star will add a starkness and high contrast to Sagittarius decan 2 as a whole.

Saturn/Antares ~ Anti-Hero Outsider

sagittarius

Another thought that occurred to me lately is of Antares being Anti-Aries. Aries is so much of the valiant hero. The alpha male that these days has been made a mockery of, by the Antares archetype actually. Antares strength is not physical, it is spiritual. When I say spiritual read it as supernatural, which is not always a positive experience. Antares is the geek outsider. A good example of this is the way David Zuckerberg is portrayed in the film ‘The Social Network’. The ‘jock’ then, who might be considered to represent the solar hero/divine masculine, is demonised nowadays.

The tables have turned, but in doing so we have lost that honest, upfront courage of the Aries warrior. Instead the Antares battle is waged sneakily, with cunning, in the dark… Saturn transiting over Antares can be read negatively for this reason. There is something very insidious about it which could be very toxic for humanity.

The rest of the fixed stars in this decan are not major enough to have any specific meaning with Saturn. I think the fixed stars here are still quite dark and intense, but apart from Antares, they do not have the heavy psychotic tendencies of Sagittarius decan 1. That decan had so many of Scorpios head stars and much of Ophiuchus. Here instead in decan 2 we have the main star of Hercules (The Kneeling Man) Ras Algethi which is a more reverent constellation. Hercules was also known as Gilgamesh, and Bernadette Brady has written about this constellation in a very positive manner.

Pagan Apple Of Gnosis

Ras Algethi “ is tied to the giving of honour or prayer to the gods, the instinctive attitude of humans in awe of the god and goddesses, and is associated with the natural order of the world. To our modern mind this could be expressed as a respect for nature, a caring about the planet, a desire to have all things in their place; in short a concern about the correct order of nature, life and the heavens.”  [2]

saturn in sagittarius

I hope this means a return to pagan religions which respected natural law! Paganism also had a connection to the cosmos too and took note of omens. This zone is less ‘heady’ than decan 1 which was ruled by Mercury and Jupiter. Sagittarius decan 2 instead is ruled by the Moon in the Chaldean system and Mars by triplicity (Aries decan.) These are more instinctive, organic and raw planets. Back to nature all over.

I called Sagittarius Decan 2 ~ 13th Fairy and Gnosis. “ It is vital for these subjects to keep in contact with nature and to respect natural law, because it seems if they do not they will suffer grave consequences. Nature seems to take a very dim few of these folk abusing the great power that they so obviously have.”

I think this is about taking the best of matter. Not falling for material-ism, but making sure we are embodied in matter, that we find spirit in the mater earth. What I like about Hercules that at least here we have something more akin to a hero we can trust again. Someone who wears his heart on his sleeve.. The uneducated man with a good heart who has no agenda.

Sagittarius 17º 58’ ~ Sabik in Ophuichus the Serpent Bearer. Nov 30 – Dec 11

* As of December 2015 according to Solar Fire’s Ephemeris. Saturn briefly re-entered Scorpio from June 14 to September 17 2015.

Saturn is in Sagittarius from Dec 23 2014* until December 2017 will bring a big shift in our lives as it enters not just a new sign, but also a new house (using whole sign houses). But what does Saturn in Sagittarius mean for the collective? Generally Saturn brings responsibility, tests, obstacles and a slowing-down to whatever it touches. Here we reap what we have sown, which is why Saturn is called the lord of karma.

It is feared as the greater malefic, but I tend to think you have nothing to worry about with Saturn if you don’t cut any corners and do the necessary foundational work. Saturn’s positive side is that it gives you the wisdom of experience, security, maturity and complexity, like a lovingly-aged vintage wine.

I want to look at Saturn through the decans of Sagittarius because there are many different stars here and a rich array of effects Saturn can have in a decan. Saturn is not going to feel the same over the next two years, as it does better on some stars and some decans than others. Let’s start with Saturn in Sagittarius decan 1  since it will be there from Sept 18 to Dec 21 2015.

Arrow Through The Apple

Sagittarius 1 is the decan of Shamans, Medicinals & “Privates” Investigators. The great attraction for foreign cultures that comes with Sagittarius serves these subjects well when looking for herbs (Or drugs..), cures and enlightenment from far and wide. There is also a fascination with ancient cultures and their healing wisdom. This decan is medicine all over and also has a deep interest in metaphysics.

There are some notable astrologers and occultists in this decan. Not surprisingly however, the list is peppered with some notoriously “evil” specimens as well as some who were only branded as such, like psychologist and psychonaut Timothy Leary. It is interesting that if you look at this decan through the sidereal lens there is not such a huge contrast between Sagittarius decan 1 and Scorpio decan 3. In fact Scorpio decan 3 comprises of mainly the serpent while Sagittarius decan 1 contains the serpent-holder Ophuichus. Somewhere between these two decans I think we will find the answers to how the human race came to be…

UPDATE! Sept 18 2015. It is useful to look back at what you started at the first hit of Saturn and then what you reviewed or revisited on the retrograde 2nd hit. In the next few weeks you should see completion of the matter. During the period between June 16 and Sept 18 things might have been put on hold, or swept under the carpet. But Sagittarius demands truth, so in October comes the ultimatum. Commit or finish!

Saturn In Sagittarius Decan 1 ~ Internet Pestilence

sagittarius

I was hoping that Saturn would lighten up in Sagittarius, but after reading that lot, I’m not so sure! Most of the negativity could of course come from the fact Saturn itself is considered a malefic, but it could also be because Saturn is not particular dignified in this decan. I am of the belief that Saturn only works negatively if we hand over our sovereignty to big daddy and refuse to take responsibility for our own lives. So for example, in Dschubba where it says “early death of a favourite child” this could symbolically be read as giving up ones creativity early in life to settle for a boring well paid job because you listened to your exceedingly materialistic parents.

This in turn could lead to “death by consumption”, literally!! Sagittarius decan 1 is ruled by Mercury and Jupiter. In this decan they call for the freedom of information and assess to the worlds libraries (or akashic records). They are also very much the truth seekers. Saturn here might want to study hard, or it could place barriers in front of occulted wisdom. It could even mean putting some restrictions on the use of the internet.

It is also interesting that Sagittarius decan 1’s daimon is Liomos the spirit of pestilence. It is vital we keep our immune systems strong at this time and Saturn is about setting firm boundaries after all. Austin Coppock calls Sagittarius decan 1, The Poisoned Arrow which I think describes it beautifully for many reasons, one of them being that the tarot card that rules this decan is the 8 of wands known as Swiftness in the Crowley Deck.

This decan is known for speed and agility of the mind, but Saturn here slows things down. This could mean we experience internet viruses which create obstacles to mind expansion. Austin Coppock says of Sagittarius Decan 1 “Without a driving will, all of ones vehicles are likely to be hijacked. Just as the body is vulnerable, so are the emotions and the mind. Thus this decan also contains the secrets of propaganda which infect the psyche.” [1]. This propaganda becomes more marked as Saturn moves towards Antares in December 2015. Saturn in Scorpio was about buried secrets and control. With Saturn in Sagittarius we could see tighter controls on information as there is a rush to expose that that has been hidden for so long.
