Jupiter conjunction, sextile or trine Neptune are harmonious and spiritual aspects for the collective that seek meaning beyond the material. In this post, I have grouped these three aspects together and looked at Jupiter square and opposition separately as they have a different significance.
On April 12 2022, Jupiter Conjunction Neptune will occur at 23º Pisces. A rare event that last happened in Pisces in March 1856. It was during the romantic Pre-Raphaelite era in art. See my Jupiter In Pisces post for the in-depth report. Here we will only look at what Jupiter Neptune aspects mean by itself.
Jupiter Conjunction Neptune In 2022
I am counting Jupiter conjunction Neptune as a soft aspect. Both Jupiter and Neptune rule Pisces, so they are sympathetic to each other. Jupiter with Neptune will feel much more Piscean in energy than Sagittarian. (The other sign Jupiter rules.) Sometimes the conjunction can even work as a challenging aspect depending on the planets involved. But I don’t think this is the case here.
Even in a harmonious aspect, we must be wary of getting blinded by the glamour of these romantic and ethereal gods. Jupiter is a nymph chaser, remember, and he shape-shifted into cute animals to seduce them. I found Jupiter showing up as a lecherous paedophile even though he is considered a benefic. Neptune is generally seen as chaste in astrological interpretation, yet he is also quite rapey.. (Neptune as Poseidon raped Medusa in Athena’s temple).
On the positive side, Jupiter Neptune soft aspects symbolize courtly love; the kind celebrated in medieval times. Troubadours would sing slushy loves songs to married ladies; knights would joust in honour of the Queen. However, those pining wannabe suitors (Unlike the groping gods) never, EVER took it to the physical.
Jupiter signifies abundance and wealth, so when it touches Neptune, one could become rich from Neptune pastimes or careers. So that means earnings from music, dance, poetry, sailing, the arts or being a guru or spiritual teacher. Jupiter Neptune together seems like a very luxurious connection. It is often the very rich who, after discovering money does not bring happiness, turn to spirituality to find meaning in their life.
Can You Afford To be Spiritual?
However, most people who struggle daily to make ends meet and feed children will still be in ‘survival mode’. In that position, there is often very little time to get ‘spiritual. That said, there are natural-born Jupiter Neptune folk who never had a yearning for material success and were always content to live frugally.
Neptune, in its highest form, tends to be celibate or virginal. Many of the early Christians were famous for renouncing their regalia and wealth, and for that very reason, they were persecuted. It is hard to blackmail someone if they don’t care much for their worldly life. Even harder if they are celibate and have no family to support. It was probably important for priests and priestesses to be single for that very reason; they were less likely to be corrupted.
Gurus, Healers & Spiritual Teachers
Traditionally soft Jupiter Neptune aspects are incredibly idealistic and esoteric. It is the archetypical guru, mystic, healer or spiritual teacher. Jupiter Neptune transits can herald someone coming into your life who serves as a great teacher or mentor, but there can be a tendency to idolize that person too. Jupiter trine Neptune in particular, is a supremely glamourous connection, almost fairytale. The temptation to go full-on fantasy mode with this transit is easy, and it will not be easy to keep your feet on the ground.
However, there is also great compassion and empathy here too. This aspect can cause an outpouring of charity to the unfortunate. Still, we must always be careful that honest and perhaps naive people’s good natures are not taken advantage of. There will always be opportunists who seek the gullible. It will be easy for them to profit from this sympathetic and rose-tinted atmosphere.
Romantic & Otherworldly
Generally, Jupiter Neptune aspects are just lovely, but you may have difficulty getting anything constructive done if you have the trine. You will feel far more inclined towards daydreaming and enjoying an activity that is poetic and romantic. Nothing wrong with that if you have been working hard. As always, it is about keeping a balance. Usually, trines are about balance, healing and harmony, so the average sane person should be fine.
Jupiter is not a personal planet but is the second last of the visible planets, so it is not as generational and otherworldly as Neptune. Jupiter is a social planet, but if you have Jupiter rising, on the Midheaven or conjunct the Sun or Moon AND in aspect to Neptune, this aspect will be personal to you.
You could very well be a guru of sorts or, on the other hand, be susceptible to idolizing celebrities or religious figures. Either way, spirituality will feature strongly in your life. If spiritual practise is not part of your daily routine, then it leaves you wide open to the deluded and deceiving nature of Neptune. And drugs..
Comfortable With Addiction?
Even the soft aspects can become lazy and indulgent. At worst, the person with a Jupiter Neptune connection could become too comfortable with being an addict or enjoy being spoilt and indolent. A good example would be a poet or musician with a benefactor who supports their alcohol or drug habit. Jupiter Neptune soft aspects can easily become a functioning addict and resist change because circumstances never become so dire to force them to face the reality of their addiction.
However, let’s not put too much of a dampener on this one! Jupiter trine Neptune is one of the most romantic and dreamy connection you can have. It is pretty much a dream come true. Jupiter conjunct Neptune and Jupiter sextile Neptune are also lucky but not as fairytale as the trine.
In my research, I found many more celebrities with Jupiter sextile Neptune for some reason than the conjunction or even the trine, which was surprising. It could be that as Jupiter and Neptune are both so otherworldly, they find it hard to be successful in the material world. Maybe they are doing good, charitable works behind the scenes.

“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli
Benjamin Disraeli was Prime minister of the UK, serving under Queen Victoria. He played a central role in forming the modern Conservative Party, defining its policies and broadening its appeal. He was creative on the side and wrote novels throughout his political career. Disraeli was creative with the truth about his origins too!
As a Portuguese Jew from a mercantile background, he preferred to say he descended from a grand Venetian family. Disraeli re-invented himself and converted to Christianity, which enabled him to enter politics. “Disraeli’s career was a romance such as no Eastern vizier or Western plutocrat could tell. He began as a pioneer in dress and an aesthete of words … Disraeli actually made his novels come true.” ~ Wiki. Jupiter conjunct Neptune style!

Jupiter Trine Neptune
“We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.” ~ AnAIs Nin
Anais Nin has this aspect and healed (Trine) her abusive childhood through her interest in psychology. Her career writing about sex was also cathartic; it seems ” Her journals ….detail her private thoughts and personal relationships, as well as her sexually abusive and incestuous relationship with her father. “~ Wiki.
Nin demonstrates the boundary-breaking aspect of Neptune when she” actually began to act as a psychoanalyst herself, …and having sex with her patients on the psychoanalytic couch.” You can see how even the soft aspect can have its dark side with Jupiter being so rapacious and greedy for sex. Anias is hailed, however, as the finest writer of female erotica. Jupiter rules publishing also.
Renzo Piano is the Italian architect most famous for the Pompidou Center in Paris (1977) and the Shard in London (2012). The Shard is probably his most Jupiter trine Neptune building. It looks like a modern version of a church spire (Jupiter) and is transparent (Neptune). As one who has experienced it for real, the Shard does have some magic about it. The Shard is designed “to express its sharp and light presence in the urban panorama of London.”

Jupiter Sextile Neptune
“Each time one prematurely teaches a child something he could have discovered himself, that child is kept from inventing it and consequently from understanding it completely.”
~ Jean Piaget
Jean Piaget was a Swiss Psychologist known for his theories on child development. Piaget placed the education of children as a crucial factor for improving society as a whole. Piaget’s background was epistemology (the study of wisdom.). Before he took up psychology he was also studied natural history. Piaget’s works inspired the transformation of education in the USA and Europe, leading to a more ‘child-centered’ approach.
