Sun Opposite/Square Jupiter ~ Grandiosity

Sun square Jupiter or Sun opposite Jupiter is a bombastic opportunist and visionary. Sun/Jupiter can’t help but be very successful even in so called ‘hard’ aspect. However the biggest problem is grandiosity and identifying itself as godlike. Like the famous nymph-chaser of the myth, Sun square Jupiter or Sun opposite Jupiter natives find it very hard to take no for an answer. This trait is particularly pronounced in competitive situations, wether it is for accolades, in sport or in terms of winning a mate over a rival.

At their very worse, Sun square Jupiter or Sun opposite Jupiter can be pushy to the extent that they literally push through to invade the boundaries of others. Sun square or opposite Jupiter feels very blessed and this translates as them having the Midas touch when it comes to business deals.

Sun square opposition Jupter transit

When the Sun is square or opposite Jupiter in the sky we feel like we have a godlike strength. This means we might find it hard to restrain ourself from over-reaching and over-consuming. Leaders and bosses are generous but be careful what you accept because you might have to pay for it dearly later. This is the aspect of inflation! Watch out for virtue-signalling too. People using their status to gain favours and procure the innocent.

The amount of luck they attract gives them the confidence to be incredibly brave, but they have to be careful that they don’t over estimate their abilities. This feeling of godlike strength and protection sometimes means that the native goes too far with dare-devil activities. Nothing is done in moderation and setting a limit is extremely difficult. This means that these folk can be quite accident prone.

No Limits To God

Sun square Jupiter or Sun opposite Jupiter can push Jupiter’s growth to epic proportions. They also expect freedom at all costs too and can get annoyingly restless and bombastic if anyone tries to quietly suggest they show some restraint. The worst thing you can do is interfere in their love life, you just can’t tell them not to eat the romantic sweets being offered on a plate.

Those that have an afflicted or very weak Jupiter will not know the meaning of the word discernment. Just because you can do it, doesn’t mean that you should! On the other hand these natives just love to give advice, they do very well in counselling occupations where they can ‘play god’.

Sun opposition Jupiter can project the patronising and patriarchal behaviour onto others while not recognising their own inflated ego. They may offer their generous heart and even material support to less fortunates and wonder why their charity is being thrown back in their face.

Do Gooding!

Sometimes the ‘do-gooding’ is seen for what it is… In the less evolved soul with this aspect, the so called ‘generosity’ is a ruse for them to become god in the eyes of those who accept their charity. The gifting may not be as unconditional as it seems.

The inflation of the ego that can occur with Sun square Jupiter can give great fame to some people. This is because naïve and impressionable folk cannot help admire the status and super-confidence emanating from those that have this aspect. Sun square or opposite Jupiter needs to work on cultivating some humility and recognise it does have limitations.

Otherwise the grandiosity becomes too apparent and these folk can fail quite spectacularly. However, despite some appalling faux pas, those with this aspect un-afflicted still have the infuriating talent to bounce right back. They find that their gambling lifestyle seems to pay them back no matter what.

Sun Square Jupiter

You can certainly see the leadership qualities and bravado in the list below. There are some great visionaries and also a high amount of very daredevil sports-people. Ayrton Senna, was regarded as the greatest ever formula 1 driver ever. Sadly he lost his life while he was leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. Ayrton crashed into a barrier and suffered instant fatal injuries. Oliver Brown says in his article “He was an emotionally driven guy. He had a God-given gift to drive a racing car just over the limit, and beyond that he was complex.” ~ Telegraph

Gary Glitter is a good example of the ridiculous, overblown posturing of this aspect. Glitter was famous for his glam rock outfits with their exaggerated shoulder pads and towering platform boots. This glitter-god image helped him sell over 20 million records in his heyday. During the 1990s Gary fell from grace for possession of child pornography. “The BBC described Glitter’s fall from grace as ‘dramatic’ and ‘spectacular’.” [1]

In 2015 he was found guilty of attempted rape, indecent assaults, and sex with a minor and was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment. “Formerly one of the best-loved entertainers in British music history, Glitter has devolved into an object of public hatred.” ~ Wiki

Sun Opposite Jupiter

Sun opposite Jupiter shows more of the godly/saviour aspect than the gambling, sexual deviancy of the square. Playing God is shown with the cloning of Dolly the Sheep, Kevin Costner (who tends to play the worthy hero/saviour in films), Sting is known for his ecology work, and ‘Saint’ Bob Geldof was knighted for his charity Band Aid. Both Helena Blavatsky and George Gurdjieff were instrumental in bringing Eastern mysticism over to the west and kickstarting what is essentially the New Age movement. It is interesting that both Helena and George share Sun Opposite Jupiter. They are also opposing Jehovah (Jupiter) in the sense that Jupiter can represent the traditional Abraham religions adopted by the West.

Helena Blavatsky was a Russian aristocrat who had the means to travel extensively throughout the world. During her travels to Europe, America, Tibet and India she claimed to have met spiritual gurus who helped her develop her psychic powers. Some biographers question if Helena really did get as far as the Orient, but rather that she was inspired by European spiritual groups popular among the upper-middle classes at the time. A woman traveling solo around the East in those days she would certainly have raised a few eyebrows.

Later when Helena befriended the medium Henry Steel Olcott she did move to India. In Ceylon Helena and Henry became the first Westerners to convert to Buddhism officially. Helena established the Blavatsky Lodge in London on her return from the Orient.  Later she co-founded the Theosophical Society which provides spiritual teaching in the West. All very Sun/Jupiter.

[Blavatsky] “talked incessantly in a guttural voice, sometimes wittily and sometimes crudely. She was indifferent to sex yet frank and open about it; fonder of animals than of people; welcoming, unpretentious, scandalous, capricious and rather noisy. She was also humorous, vulgar, impulsive and warm-hearted, and didn’t give a hoot for anyone or anything.” — Biographer Peter Washington, 1993.[2]
