Moon Square Mars

Moon Square Mars

Moon square Mars is a highly emotional, combustible and passionate combination. The square brings such intense feelings and moods to crisis point, so these people more than most, need to vent this great energy into some project which fuses the Moon with Mars. This could manifest in a variety of ways; starting at the most base level would be sexual conquesting. In a man it would be more likely to be a great appetite for women, plain and simple. In a woman it would just be a need to express themselves sexually, otherwise they may feel like they have permanent premenstrual tension. If the sexual expression is thwarted in any way then of course the flip side is great anger and rage.

The next level up would be a great urge to protect and defend their family, but also a need for their family to get ahead. They will work long hours so their children go to the best schools, success and competativeness is encouraged, but they may be a little too gung-ho and pushy with their kids. This could also describe a mother who was very feisty and passed on the message to her child that failure was not an option. This can produce very precocious and cocky Moon square Mars kids, or conversely a child who finds it difficult to express their anger. A waxing square may be less conscious and therefore more passive-aggressive whereas a waning square has had more time to utilise the great potential in this aspect and could really move mountains with it, Gandhi below is a good example.

Moon Square Mars Celebrities

Larry Hagman must have tapped into his Moon square Mars to play JR Ewing, the role he immortalised in the hugely popular soap Dallas. JR was fiercely protective of his family and this Mars ambition and rampant sexual conquesting epitomised the runaway greed of the 1980s. Hagman himself had his own battle with his appetite for drink. Larry had a famous actress mother Mary Martin, but he spend most of his childhood with his grandmother while his mother was working. The absence of his mother obviously left quite a hole in his life which he later filled with drinking. He started drinking heavily at the age of 14 after his grandmother died. Moon square Mars here reflects the pain of loosing a full time mother.

Other celebrities with Moon square Mars include: Prince William/Kate’s Davison chart, James Dean, Nicolas Cage, Walt Disney, Amelia Earhart, Myra Hindley, Tina Turner, Paul Simon, Edith Paif, Mike Barson, Mary Tyler Moore, Martin Luther King, Mohandas Gandhi, Michael Moore, Diana Mitford, Kate Bush and Keith Richards.

  1. I have this too and I think this definitely indicates the problems I’ve had with my mother all of my life. She’s also an Aries Sun too. I have Moon/11th, Moon in Cancer, and Cancer 12th with Mars in Libra in the 3rd.
She was never emotionally available to me growing up and a very dominating figure in the household. A lot of that was because she had to be, because she had to raise three kids on her own when my step dad was out of state often for work. She always had parties at home and her friends constantly around her so us kids were always feeling like we had to compete for her attention. She was always angry and frustrated and it was near impossible to make her happy…especially as she got older. Then as I got older she became very aggressive and even jealous of me and at the age of 16 I moved out of the house (which she wanted.) I feel that I need to heal these past issues with my mom because I know I project frustration and anger in my daily life that I try to repress….then only to explode finally when I just couldn’t take anymore. Learning astrology has been helping me discover these things more deeply which is also helping me heal too. :)

    • I can really relate to this, but I have moon in scorpio and mars in leo.

  2. I have Moon in Cancer(3rd) square Mars in Libra(6th) . This energy manifests itself sexually.
I like to please my mate sexually and can be quite vocal in bed. I like being the initiator in sex and often feel awkward when sex is initiated on me.

What’s interesting is that I’ve met someone before who had the reverse combo(Moon in Libra , Mars in Cancer) and the attraction between us was instant. But I wasn’t about to follow it through-since I was involved with someone else.

I think one should also add that sex/fighting is very much a part of life when dating someone with this aspect. The person concerned may be moody, temperamental or have anger management issues.

  3. I am the waxing version, as my virgo moon in the 11h squares my sagi Mars in 2h which is part of G. Trine in fire, I am somewhat reluctant to let go of my anger, for me I tend to walk away, as I fear the chaos that may ensue.

Regarding the pursuit of women it’s the only way I know if I’m successful sad I know.

  4. A theme that has been repeated on this thred is about anget, and that is what led me here. I am angry a lot and becuade I feel that people are trying to create conflict with me. I’m also really good at hidingy anger so that makes me passive aggressive. Themes of a strong sexuality also exist. I have a strong sexual apatite.
