Every name and form in the physical world has its Archetype in the Celestial world. That Archetype is a purer expression than the physical form, which is really a symbolic representation of the divine Archetype. The physical human individual, whether we choose to believe it or not, also possesses an Archetype, which is its divine individuality who remains anchored to the Celestial world, while its puppet, the physical human being, acts out (at least partially) the will of the Archetypal self that has not undergone embodiment.

The purpose of this post is not to discuss man and its Archetypal self (Seraph), it is to discuss the process of human embodiment, which among the metaphysicians and philosophers of the ancient world was known as Tolma. Tolma, or the descent of the human soul, did not affect only the human individuality, it also affected the world in general. The physical domain was seen as the embodiment of the Celestial world, its solidification into a symbol via a long precipitative process of becoming. The Celestial world eternally remains as the habitation of the Gods and immortals, our forgetfulness of our home and proper perspective is Tolma. The Gods, which did indeed exist to the ancient mind, and rightfully so, were viewed as the non-precipitated presences or divine individualities behind the animation of the physical domain. In other words, the Gods could not be seen in the physical world because they remained to a large extent hidden within the Celestial world while exercising control over all natural processes such as the movements of the planets, rain, volcanoes, earthquakes, and etc. Embodiment or Tolma is not an externalized process, it is an “internalized” one. The physical world itself has become embodied through the embodiment of our individuality. To be clear, this is why I have explained that what happens within the psyche or soul of the human individual will play out in the physical domain. The Gods do not exist external to us, they exist internally and even by blood, but that is another post entirely.
