Solar transits last for one day and are the most important of the short term transits because the Sun is the powerhouse of our solar system. The Sun is vitality, it is the life force and therefore animates any point in the horoscope it aspects by transit. With the Moon phases, you can read for the Sun in transit and extend the influence, as they represent a focus in life for that period. New Moons last for one month, up to the next new Moon. Solar eclipses are similar but last for about six months, up to the next solar eclipse. Full Moons last about two weeks, up to the next new Moon, and lunar eclipse are similar in effect to the solar eclipses.

The full moons and lunar eclipse will have more of an inner, subconscious and emotional focus, while the new Moons and solar eclipses will have more of outward, conscious focus.
