Solar Eclipse March 2015

The Solar Eclipse on March 20 is at 29º Pisces and falls in Pisces Decan 3
Daring Visionaries & Star Measurers. Decan Ruler: Mars Deity: Elpis (The Spirit Of Hope) Aspects: None!

“This Solar eclipse is simmering, about to boil over from Pisces as it makes its way towards birthing at the spring equinox of 0º Aries. The collective is bursting with anticipation for the future and impatient because we have been cocooned for far too long.”

New Moon Solar Eclipse March

The Solar Eclipse falls on the fixed star Scheat in Pegasus the flying horse. It is also on the anaretic 29th degree. This is a very unstable place because the element is about to change into its very opposite. Pegasus was born from the blood of the decapitated head of Medusa (See notorious Algol). Bellerophon tamed the flying horse and then attempted to ride him up to heaven. Pegasus’s over-ambitious rider fell off before he got to the stars, but it didn’t stop Pegasus getting there.

From this myth comes the Pegasus syndrome “It is unwise to take any situation for granted as the ‘lesser’ person (or, in this case, beast) may be the very one to teach us the much needed lesson in humility. Pegasus is also indicative of a specific mission in life which the inquirer will always find the time and energy to pursue, although the path may be sewn with difficulties and limitations”  The article goes on to say “In poetry, the phrase “My Pegasus will not go this morning” means the author’s brain will not work (lacks inspiration), and “I am mounting my Pegasus” means he’s going to write (he’s becoming inspired).”

Interpretations of the fixed star Scheat itself seems to be associated more with the accident side of the myth. Robson says “It causes extreme misfortune, murder, suicide, and drowning.” [1] The Ebertins say. “Tied up with ‘malefics’, this could lead the native to lose his life in catastrophes, such as floods, shipwreck, mining accidents, airplane accidents, or maybe suicide. On the other hand, it is possible for a positive influence to emanate from Scheat, but only for some people, it can have a positive effect on their mental creativity, if these people are ready to receive such inflow.” [2].

Scheat Hits The Fan

Solar Eclipse March 2015

Now my take on Scheat is that it although it can have a real naive, reckless attitude, this naivety is often a blessing. It gives one the bravado to go into the scary woods with nothing but blind hope and a gut feeling. Often the path to liberating wisdom is laden with booby traps, put there by those who want to keep us chained in ignorance. If we had done the sensible thing, conduct careful research and seen what a minefield the path was, we might never take the journey at all. Any worthwhile quest has an element of risk.

In actual fact, Pegasus inadvertently threw off his rider because he was stung by a gnat sent by Zeus! Maybe this Solar Eclipse on Scheat is telling us we are more likely to reach the stars if we become Pegasus ourselves, rather than riding on someone else’s research and studies. Visionary Pegasus says, question everything, do your own research, be your own scientist. Once you have a true, deep connection with your inner wisdom and solar center, nothing, no religion, no ideology, no–ism and no measly parasite can throw you off your stellar mission.

A Solar Eclipse is a turbo charged New Moon. Generally new moon rituals are perfect for planting new seeds and starting afresh. We are essentially working on the blank canvas of the dark moon where our ideas can gestate in the new moon soil. But with an Eclipse, the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth therefore interrupting the flow of energy and causing disruption. It breaks our habitual behaviour. I like to think of it as a cosmic reboot.

New Moon Solar Eclipse March

The Moon blots out the solar, left brain energy so the lunar right brain can take over. This makes the unconscious, conscious, like suddenly being aware that you are dreaming. The effect is like a lucid dream. During an eclipse we might get that feeling of sudden, shocking awareness, so we could do anything!! Sometimes this is so awesome that we don’t even know what to do, others even become fearful of their own power. Most of us in lucid dreams however, decide to fly. How appropriate flying is then for this particular Solar Eclipse in Pegasus. Scheat (Beta Pegasus), has I think, a very Uranian, breakthrough energy about it. It is dangerous, daring and a breaker of molds, but it is also quite Neptunian too, after all Neptune was Pegasus’s father. It is also the steed we need to ride to get to the Age of Aquarius, since it is the constellation that links our current age of Pisces with that of Aquarius.

The Age Of Pegasus

Scheat is also on the verge of becoming “The Star of Our Age” for in 2045 it will reach 0º Aries, the vernal point from which we measure what age we are in. The last star from Constellation Pisces, Omega Pisces is now at 2º Aries due to precession, so the devoted Piscean influence is waning! We can see this in the death throws of religious fundamentalism that came in 2000 odd years ago with age of the fishers of men. (Messiahs.) Currently, the nearest star to 0º Aries is actually Iota Cetus, a small star in the sea monster. That figures! Maybe this big whale needs to swallow up all the gurus and messiahs.. But back to Pegasus. I believe Scheat has a lot to do with the advancement of futuristic technology and connecting minds through the internet. Surfing online is very fluid, here barriers come down and there is a transparency between people that we didn’t have 20 years ago. Scheat knows no bounds, and sees no boundaries. The sky is indeed the limit.

The eclipse makes no connections to the rest of the chart, like it’s isolated in another dimension altogether. We almost have a boomerang Yod, which we could say is our Pegasus. The occult/taboo wisdom of Lilith spurs this horse on to exposing any delusions or dis-info from Mercury conjunct Neptune. Everything is pointing at spiritual Pisces, if we can get through the Uranus square Pluto wall of propaganda. Thankfully we still have the wonderful ideas and inventions from Jupiter trine Uranus, which has been on going since Jupiter entered Leo last year. I’m hoping technology will be used to work with mother Earth and the enlightenment process rather than against it. There are ways to defend ourselves, check out Orgonite there are alternative scientists working underground to bring us free energy through Tesla technology. There is hope! So don’t let the gnats bring us down.

Suggested Items For Your Altar*:

The spirit of hope, an eternal spring, 10 over-flowing cups, white lilies, a flying horsey, an astrolab, a telescope, black pepper or clove incense, a discarded lizard, a fly swatter, a squished gnat, some holly, a piece of organite, a framed photo of Nicola Tesla, some melted cloud, swan feathers, diamonds, garnet, glittery stars, a horse shoe, a pen and notepad, a brain (or a walnut, whatever is easier.)

*My idea of an altar is not for it to be a plinth for worshiping deities. For me it’s about creating an ambience for things we want to ALTER in our lives. We might want to write intentions and burn them in front of this “Alter”. Raise a glass and have a good laugh at the idols. Humour kills all known germs… and no more reverence and “preying” either. Yuk!
