Mars Square Saturn ~ Execution

Mars square opposite Saturn

OCT 11: Mars Square or opposite Saturn is most commonly associated with violence mainly because of the combination of the two malefics with the two most challenging aspects you can have in astrology. The native is extremely competitive, especially with the opposition. Therefore sports are a good outlet for this aggressive, yet potentially discipled energy.

Martial arts would also be a great expression of its focused endurance. Yes, this is a challenging aspect for sure, but it also has great courage and stamina. Those who work in the military will find this aspect useful in building willpower and also, to some extent, the ability to rein in their more bestial impulses. The paradox of Mars square or opposition Saturn, is that once its tendency to explode is mastered, as it can be extremely transformational and purifying.

It can also be a person who actually is able to tame wild behaviour, because of its very authoritarian energy. Mars square or opposition Saturn has the power of a steam roller. It make take a while to get moving, but once active will flatten all opposition to a pulp. When it has to it, this aspect goes in hard and fast. Mars/Saturn will then be ruthless and relentless until the bitter end.

“The Mars/Saturn person often finds it difficult to get angry, difficult to assert themselves, to go for what they want, without going too far. Like Mars/Pluto, Mars/Saturn can suffer great rage that they don’t know what to do with….once aroused Mars/Saturn can fly into the most terrific rages. It’s as if all the expressed hurts, angers and irritations get saved up.” [1] In the end Mars/Saturn will erupt and only explode when they find it really safe to do so, like a controlled demolition. Sometimes they will deliberately target a weaker individual or group guaranteed to never hit back.

Volcanic Executions

Mars square opposite saturnIt is very easy for Mars/Saturn to pick on a scapegoat to whom they can dump all their hangups onto. On the other hand, the native can put up with abuse for a very, very long time before they defend them self.

Saturn delays retaliation, so it is often the case that it will be a very tiny straw that finally breaks the camel’s back. To observers, the colossal response of Mars/Saturn’s revenge seems totally out of proportion to the provocation. However, deeply hidden will be the teasing, undermining and vampiric behaviour from the provocateur that will have been going on for some years. It gets to the point that either the Mars/Saturn native commits suicide or lashes out spectacularly. Survival instincts kick in very strongly with this aspect and the results are never pretty.

Mars is also sex and passion, so Saturn here can suppress that too. The result is often very steamy, like the workings of a pressure cooker. Push Mars down with any force and of course it is going to be explosive the moment it releases itself. The natives will either super sex-charged or celibate. Sadomasochism was made for Mars/Saturn people, as was the corset! If this aspect was a style of dress it would be Steam Punk, a kind of futuristic yet prim Victorian.

At worst, in the most repressive cases, depression and anger becomes self harm. Sometimes, the native experiences bullying as a child or even sexual abuse. Authority figures are both feared and admired. There can be great hero worship where the natives own sense of disempowerment is projected onto another who seems to have all the courage and ‘Alpha’ energy they themselves lack.

  1. Mars square Saturn person vs mars opposite Saturn person
    who will be win?
Mars combust and conjunction with north node fo square person.

  2. Geocentrically, I have Mars in Cancer in the 2nd house in 6 minute approaching opposition to Saturn in Capricorn in the 8th House. This is part of three geometric patterns: a loose separating T-square with Moon (where both planets aspect the Moon near equally, close to 7 1/2 degrees); as one of the oppositions in a hard (octile) rectangle; and as the center pole (backbone) of an extraordinarily strong black kite (all the octile aspects (Saturn-Chiron, Venus-Saturn, Venus-Mars, and Mars-Chiron) are separating but manifesting less than 12 minutes in separation; the square aspect (Venus-Chiron) yields less than 20 minutes in separation; all five of these aspects are reinforced in hard aspects when the heliocentric chart is taken into consideration). In the declinations (latitudinal view), Mars and Saturn are contra-parallel (56 minutes apart).

Heliocentrically, viewing longitudinally, I have Mars in Gemini in the 12th House in a 37 minute approaching sesquiquadrate to Saturn in Capricorn in the 8th House. It is part of a hard (octile) triangle with Saturn and Pluto constituting the other sesquiquadrate (2 degrees 53′) leg and Pluto and Mars at the square base at 3 degrees 30′: all three aspects are approaching. This pattern is connected up flush with a T-square where squared Pluto and Mars aspect is shared, Pluto and Chiron are in an approaching 5 degree 39′ opposition, and Mars and Chiron in a separating 2 degree 9′ square. Viewing latitudinally, Mars is at 0.25’46” N and Saturn is at 0.13’7″ N and therefore 13′ apart – well within the range of being parallel. Furthermore, Mars and Saturn are parallel to the Earth-Moon complex.

To be detached in analysis, it seems to me the possibility of integrating the two planets’ energies is quite remote when taking into consideration their contextual positioning as detailed above. The results on me, on my life, cannot be overemphasized. I married late in life. The composite chart makes clear it is a Plutonian relationship in the most strongest terms Chiron in the 12th House and Pluto in the 7th House in a 1 degree 3′ opposition – the former 56′ away from the Ascendant and the latter 7 minutes away from the Descendant. A very harmful thing occurred to me early in our union. It shattered trust into small crystals of glass and to put Humpty Dumpty back together again has been well nigh impossible. Taping large pieces of mirror back together is conceivable, but lack of honesty assures the wallowing of the past in pools of degenerative poison where the smallest pieces are imperceptible granules, but nevertheless cuts to infinity (or so it seems) and draws blood in draining floods. Having Mars and Saturn in my nature as I do is indeed unimaginably combustible. With a few spectacular short-lived explosions in my life, I have been able to keep the seemingly near impenetrable lid on successfully. The trigger snapped commencing a soul reverberating quake – the nuclear fuse was lit – that blew the unfathomably thick cover off tout suit. I became and continue to be the volcano, uncontrollably spewing hot molten lava onto myself and those closest to me. They are buried underneath the anger – forever severed – strangers. My image and my perceptions of others have been irrevocably transformed. Redemptive change, as it is, must come from within: from human viewing mirror to stewing to an embrace of phoenix deriving, imbuing diamonds forged by fire, spread throughout the sky: heaven’s shelf of the self. And from a long inevitably contorted road of acceptance of such, meanness can become meaning, and, thus, yield to healing – of forgiveness sublimely lived.

    • Hope you soon heal! Are you finding your ability to express yourself so poetically helpful in this? I have mars in cancer square Saturn in Libra and find it hard to assert myself.
