Spiritual Accountants & Poker Faces. Rulers: Sun & Jupiter. Deity: Leto.
This Full Moon may be experiencing a tumultuous emotional storm, but on surface, nothing, not a flicker, awesome… It’s all in the eyes though, the eyes burning into you with such ferocity, but what, what does this Moon want, it won’t tell you?!!! How infuriating.
The Full Moon aligns with the fixed star Alphecca which is found in the Corona Borealis in the Northern Crown. It is another of those naughty, debaucherous bi-sexual stars, but then what can you expect from a star that sits in a girlie princess tiara. Alphecca “ is noted for conveying honor, dignity and artistic ability. But like all Venusian stars it can also have its undesirable effects. Medieval astrologers, who tended to emphasize the more perverse side of astrology, asserted that Alphecca rising indicates a life spent in a variety of pleasurable pursuits by an individual who decked his body with adornments, secretly engaged in love affairs or adultery and who (as Firmicus Maternus primly declares) “bedded boys and girls”. Well I guess the star is quite camp then… This would be a great Full Moon to “come out” to, wether it is from a closet or just to have a really elaborate fancy dress party. The point is to artistically express yourself, it’s not about fashion. Also this Moon screams hen party to me, so get those cheap princess crowns from Clare’s Accessories…. and burn them. This Moon is square Jupiter, so don’t take things seriously.
Full Moon rituals are perfect for purging and releasing things from our lives that no longer serve our higher self. The bright light of the sun throws a spotlight on our subconscious to illuminate any issues that have been festering there since the new moon. Often the full moon is a time where we can see the fruit blossom from the seeds we planted at the new Moon. We can also choose to release people or bad habits as old routines and ties we established years ago can be thrown into the lunar fire. When we release people or things in this way, the Full Moon birthing time can be more of a cosmic menstruation. Therefore the Full Moon can be a cleansing time for both men and women. Some Full Moons are better at letting-go or birthing certain things than others. Some moons are more about birthing or bringing things to a head gently. Other Full Moons may have a more volcanic, violent purging energy about them depending on the decan or star being activated. Every month I will present the influences surrounding the current full Moon and suggest ways of utilising its energy in order to make a powerful spell for birthing or release.
