The Full Moon on January 23/24 2016 is at 3º of Leo Decan 1
Aspect: Quincunx Venus. Fixed Star: Talitha in Ursa Major. Dignity: None
The Full Moon January 2016 features a black hole of a T-square and occurs during Mercury conjunction Pluto (lasting Jan 22 to Jan 30.) where words are life-or-death. Mercury conjunct Pluto can be associated with being hushed up or threatened if you dare speak out. Blackmail is possible with this aspect too. There is a great obsession with solving mysteries and uncovering the truth no matter how deeply buried it is. The subject will risk their life in order to solve a crime. This is the aspect of murder mysteries and who-dunnits.
Mercury conjunct Pluto forms the apex of the black hole T-Square to Lilith opposite Uranus. This is almost the same T-square featured in the Mercury retrograde chart where instead of Mercury, the Sun was conjunct Pluto. At the time I said “there is no way I can sugar-coat this one! Forbidden fruit, obsession, psychopaths, heroin, psychological warfare, abuse, paedophilia, child abductions, mental cruelty, possession, slavery”. The Mercury Rx T-square occurred on January 5, when the press finally revealed that mass sexual abuses of German women by Arab/North African men, which took place in many German cities during New Years Eve celebrations. The police held back from revealing what had happened for three days until the story finally bled into social media! What is this fear of reporting the truth when it comes to abuse aimed towards white/western women from black/eastern men? (See Rotherham UK) Lilith of course can signify taboo subject matter and discussing race seems to be the biggest taboo these days.
Blood Ties & Ancestral Healing
I think this Full Moon will bring to a head many of the themes of Mercury retrograde where this time the pen is mightier than the sword. The imagination from the Moon, due to the influence of stars Vega and Altair, inspires art related to clans, family rivalry, dynasties, gangsters or tribal warfare. I’m thinking of ‘The Borgias’ or ‘Game Of Thrones’… sex and violence basically. What usually makes the blood boil, is a threat to ones own tribe. Native/indigenous cultures seem to have a much stronger loyalty to their race. (Or they are allowed to have..)
Having a common religion is also another bind that insures loyalty towards its members. It is worth asking at this time, what do European natives have to hold them together as a tribe, now that we are largely secular? ‘Game Of Thrones’ is so popular probably because it connects us to a lost world of heroes, honour and tribal loyalty.
The Full Moon makes one aspect. Moon quincunx Venus which wants everyone to be happy, loving and congenial, so this Full Moon will be obsessive in its pursuit of fairness and perfection. Because of this perfectionist quirk, during this Full Moon we won’t take criticism well, and become upset far too easily. This will draw us into very un-Venusian fights. This aspect can veer towards the kinky in relationships due to the mother figure being the chief disciplinary parent in childhood. Women at this time can be held in awe; worshiped and hated at the same time.
Full Moon January ~ Horoscope
The theme of Vega was very strong with the last New Moon in Capricorn decan 2. This brought the ancestral clan theme to our attention. With this Full Moon now, these blood ties come to a head. Full Moons do actually make us bleed more profusely, which is why its not a good idea to have an operation at a full moon. It is interesting that the Full Moon in Leo decan 1 has similar themes of ancestral connections. The Moon doesn’t have any special power in this decan, but it does well in acquiring material wealth here. This may be through material inheritance or through an inherited character trait or talent.
Whatever the case, family loyalty and values are very strong at this time, as is the importance of passing something of value down to ones descendants. One problem at this Full Moon may be identifying too strongly with the family clan. The subject may lock in rather too strongly to the ‘hive mind’ amongst family members which makes it hard for us to break out of infantile behaviour patterns.
On the positive side a Full Moon in Leo decan 1 has an almost religious reverence towards ancestors. This ancestral connection make bring our spirit guides very near. It’s comforting to feel someone has your back and can one great confidence. The fixed star of this Moon has a subtle effect. Talitha is found in the front paw of Ursa Major, the great bear. Talitha means ‘daughter of the assembly’. It is associated with a bible story where Jesus is called to revive a dying girl. Jesus says ‘Talitha arise’ and indeed she does. So this star can bring healing and compassion along with Ursa Minor’s other protective, nurturing traits. Hopefully this star can soften the other harsh aspects that are active. The negative side of this Full Moon could dredge out all the nasty family skeletons and ignite some bitter family feuds. On the positive side, this could be an amazing time to find and reconnect with long-lost and missed members of your family clan.
