Darkstar Astrology is the joint venture of Astrologers Marina and Jamie Partridge. We currently live 10,000 miles apart, Jamie in the down-Underworld (NSW), Australia and Marina up in London, England. We are both single parents, but one day we hope to live as one big family. Until then we must live with the fact it is always dark for one of us when the sun is out for the other. We like the way our new name reflects that.
We particularly resonate with challenging charts, seeing them as holding great potential once the energies are understood and channeled positively. We both have Yod configurations in our charts along with other challenging aspects. We are not afraid of the darker sides of human nature and believe that shining a light on ones demons is the first step in successfully exorcising them. The horoscopic chart is a great way to discover what hidden gold lies buried down those dark mines.

I have taught myself astrology since my teens, but the skeptic in me ensured I kept away from such “voodoo” as a career. Instead I became an Illustrator. 20 years of working with symbols and archetypes form the foundation of my Astrological approach. I’m inspired by myths, Hermeticism and the Tarot. For me the Fixed stars bring all these together and aid me in finding the stories contained within the birth chart. I use the Celestial Tarot in conjunction with my readings as an aid to “plug into” the client.
The Dark Moon has many more archetypes Persephone, Hekate, Kali, Medusa, among them. Originally they were beautiful, sexy, psychic, magical beings who knew the importance of preparing for death and eventual regeneration. They respected natures cycles. I find them the perfect compliment to the use of Fixed stars in readings. One of my primary objectives is to raise awareness of the Dark Goddess archetype through the use of Black Moon Lilith, Ceres & Eris in the chart.
Only when Paganism was destroyed by the Christians were these Goddesses warped into mans worst fears and were turned into ugly crones or dangerous spellbinding witches. Lilith symbolizes a reclaiming of that original dark goddess power. And acceptance of the dark as well as the light side of human nature. More about my work with the Dark Goddess.

As I was learning astrology I consulted some fine astrologers, though shyed away from taking any classes or joining any astrology associations. My scientific training at university made me skeptical, but what I saw made me believe. Skepticism and a scientific approach is still healthy for discerning what works best in astrology. It is the magic from intuition that makes it come alive. This is the basic approach I take to all readings, personal, relationship, or mundane: 1. close aspects, 2. fixed stars 3. precession 4. transits 5. lunations.
So when I do a personal reading, I unlock the secrets inside. Bringing out the deeply buried side, which we were conditioned as children not to express. The darker side of our self which needs to evolve to a higher manifestation. Recognition and acceptance of the dark, the naughty and the painful is half the battle to transforming this energy into something productive, leading to a more fulfilling and happy life.

Many people are looking to astrology to help them in this rapidly changing era and we endeavor to offer a clear alternative to the mainstream sign based approach. We interpret the effects of the cosmos on humanity based on the aspects the celestial bodies make to each other against the backdrop of the fixed stars and their constellations.

Astrology has a critical role to play in helping humanity through this era of change and uncertainty. It must be able to comprehend the new languages speaking from beyond Saturn in order to do so. Thanks Katy, It’s lovely to get feedback, after the 20 odd years of Illustration work for other publications that I would never get to hear if anyone liked them or not. Now thanks to comments and interaction on the web I can! Handy that I have a backlog of material that gets a new leash of life too. All I have to do is remix and re-colour them to fit into our colour scheme and themes.
I absolutely love your artwork too and the whole site, I don’t like the introduction of “find polish girls in the UK” adverts though! it REALLY cheapens it and i think undermines the amount of work and research you have put into your study/ model, if you are going the advert route can’t it be a bit more selective/tasteful?
* Sigh* I know Dee. I didn’t think they were getting THAT tacky. That bothers me. The ads rotate. I get dating sites about 25% of the time on the front page and I just grit my teeth and say to myself its a necessary evil.. Maybe it depends on the content. I think the dating ads may come up more on the horoscopes page.
I wish we had more control on the adverts. I don’t like them at all, and I have fought tooth and nail to keep advertising off this site for months. I don’t know…
I relented because adverts mean that I can spend more time writing all those books I want to write and it’s another source of income apart from readings. To earn a decent wage from readings you would have to do so many, you wouldn’t have time to write blogs or books.
I see it that the adverts reward us for writing good free content.
OR we could take off the adverts and just do readings, you’d loose the tacky ads, but you would have less posts too.
It’s a vicious circle.
Ps. You will notice I have no adverts of any of my Illustrated posts. I will not let adverts ruin my carefully crafted page. I only let adverts on the eclipses because they get a lot of traffic.
Hi Marina – I just got a surprise! Three sites advertising spell casting – the system used my location I suppose – and one of the sites advertises strong muti… which I could use on the people playing vile loud music somewhere near here…

I had to cut them out too,I got burn out and again I need time for book. Also I am about to spend two precious months with my Aussie family, my Jupiter square Sun has made me prioritize. Only essential work now while I enjoy a much needed break. Family comes 1st!
The ads are tailored somewhat to what you search on Google. My daughter was on my computer yesterday and I keep getting ads for acne treatments!

No Dee don’t worry, you’re not a perv! I have Philippino girls on mine. It’s kind of a mix of searching and what’s written on the site I think. It’s the fault of the horoscopes because they mention dating, and I think it’s love test in the popular posts that bring it up too.
Apparently you can block certain companies so once we figure out how to do it we shall!. Szook flirting girls and Phillippino chicks are the first on my hit list.

Hi Jay, there is nothing going on for decan 3 in the way of transits apart from the first paragraph, which applies to all decans. Therefore Decan 3 gets Venus going through your decan towards the end of December. Lucky you!
